USASA Slopestyle Event

Nearly one dozen athletes participated in a USASA Southeastern Freestyle event today at Ober Gatlinburg.  Kids from Sevier County and Western North Carolina participated by showcasing their skills and best tricks in the Freestyle Terrain Park.  Sanctioned by the USASA, this event offers the young snow sports athlete an opportunity to progress to a higher level and the National Championship in Copper Mountain, Colorado in April, which is the largest ski competition in the world with 6,000 participants.  This is a primary feeder to the Olympics.

Two local freestyle riders from Sevierville took top honors in their age divisions:

Carson Cramer-Hack, 16-years-old

1st place Slopestyle Jr. Snowboard Division and Coolest Trick of the Day

(with a Wildcat aka: a back flip over the Barrel Bonk)

Braxton Morgan 13-years-old

1st Place Snowboard Breaker Division
